For MG, a dedicated Nocpix user from the UK, innovation is something proven through experience. Since the launch of the Vista H35R and ACE S60R, he has put both devices to the test in real-world conditions, using them three to four nights a week. Over time, their performance, reliability, and the support behind them have earned his trust, turning him from an early adopter into an enthusiastic advocate who actively shares his experiences with fellow shooters and gamekeepers.
In this interview, he shares how years of hands-on experience have shaped his confidence in Nocpix, why dependable products and responsive service matter in the field, and how his personal journey has inspired others to discover Nocpix for themselves.

Q1: You mentioned, “I use them heavily, usually 3–4 nights every week.” We’d love to know a little more about your professional background. How helpful is the Nocpix product for your actual work?
I am an advisor specializing in environmental crops, forage, and game cover crops across farms, sporting estates, and private land. In my role, I support farmers, landowners, game managers, and conservationists to develop tailored mixes and habitats. Over the past 20 years, I’ve built a strong network across these clients. Through this network, I spend my own time supporting customers and friends with vermin control, helping manage fox populations across various shoots, lambing units, and conservation projects, as well as on my own shooting syndicate. I am also a very keen deer stalker, helping manage local deer populations to protect woodland, flora, and fauna while ensuring high-quality venison enters the food chain.
The Nocpix products are an essential tool for this work. Using thermal optics 3–4 nights every week allows me to monitor wildlife, protect livestock, and carry out management shooting with extreme efficiency and precision.
Q2: Do you remember roughly when you bought your first Nocpix product? And what made you decide to take a chance on a brand-new Nocpix product at the time?
I bought my first Nocpix products—the Vista H35R thermal monocular and the ACE H50R scope in December 2024, and later upgraded to the ACE S60R in March 2025.
What made me take a chance on a new brand was the image quality and sensor resolution offered at such a competitive price point. Initially, I was drawn to the Vista spotter because of its green palette setting, which significantly reduces eye fatigue during long sessions out in the field.
Q3: You mentioned that you find the performance and reliability to be excellent. Could you share a little more about the hunting scenes or conditions where you find it especially reliable? We’re also very interested in understanding what reliability means most to hunters in real-world use.
I use the units in extreme conditions, from high-temperature summer nights (especially this year) to freezing winter sessions while sitting out waiting for foxes near lambing fields or pheasant release pens. The high-resolution sensor gives me crystal-clear identification of target species like foxes, deer, etc over extreme ranges on open farmland and grassland. To enable me to stalk as required.
Reliability to me means ethical shot placement and absolute confidence in my equipment. The integrated laser rangefinder allows me to take precise, safe shots out to 400+ yards with confidence when conditions demand it, though thermal usually allows me to get much closer. It’s also incredibly versatile: with multiple rifle profiles, I can easily swap the scope onto my woodland stalking rifle, taking clear shots anywhere from 20 yards to 300 yards.
In woodland environments, the detail is fine enough to pick out small obstructing branches, which is critical for avoiding ricochets and making clean, ethical kills. Even in harsh, damp, or cool fog conditions with high atmospheric moisture often found on open grassland areas, the sensor performance holds up exceptionally well. Even if dense moisture creates rangefinder bounce-back, the visual clarity of the scope remains top-tier.
Q4: Looking back from your first ACE to the Nocpix products you use today, what changes have you noticed in Nocpix? And is there anything you feel has never changed? What change or improvement has impressed you most?
Since my experience with Nocpix started with the initial Vista and ACE series, what has impressed me most is their commitment to ongoing improvement through firmware updates and being open to customers’ feedback, always wanting to improve. What hasn’t changed is the core picture quality and value for money, which remains excellent.
If I could suggest a couple of minor tweaks for future updates to make the scope even better:
A standby icon on both scope and spotter; I’ve had issues where the scope has accidentally been left on.
A smaller reticle/crosshair inside the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window for finer precision on small targets.
An option where the PiP box aligns directly as a continuation of the main crosshair axis for a more seamless aim point.
Developments made to zeroing and improving movement increments’ accuracy to match movement stated to actual movement.
Q5: Nocpix will be bringing out many more products across different categories in the future. Is there anything you’re particularly interested in or looking forward to getting your hands on?
I am keen to try out the new Nocpix Multispectral / Day-Night scope. High-definition daytime digital optics alongside thermal capability would be ideal for picking out physical details on an animal that thermal imaging alone can’t always reveal.
However, the unit I would really love to try and test because I think it could be a genuine game-changer for deer management is the new Nocpix Mate H50R Front-Mounted Thermal Imaging Attachment. Combining a thermal front-clip-on with high-quality day glass would be fantastic. Whether on foot stalking or sitting in a high seat, having the ability to quick-release and adapt your optics on the fly would transform how versatile a setup can be in the field.
Innovation earns trust through experience. Trust inspires others.
