A gear expert and seasoned hunter, Chris Parkin has spent years exploring the intersection of precision, technology, and the great outdoors. With a lifelong passion for shooting and decades of experience as a professional reviewer, Chris continues to share his deep technical insight through articles and his YouTube channel, inspiring shooters around the world to elevate their craft.
Hunting, for Chris, started early — his father, cousin, and uncles were all hunters. The outdoors quickly became his natural home. “I always wanted to shoot and hunt,” he recalls. “Shooting seemed to be a very natural skill for me from an early age — both on targets and live quarry.”

Among countless hunting memories, one experience stands out vividly — his first wild boar hunt in the Czech Republic. “It was 2013, my first ever encounter and shot at a wild boar — fast and exciting,” he remembers. “I saw a Frischling running full speed about 30 metres away, and I was thrilled to make my first ever shot count perfectly.”
As both a hunter and a professional equipment reviewer, Chris has an exceptional perspective on gear performance. “I have vast experience with equipment from most manufacturers and across all price points, so I can be objective and understand the relevance of each product to shooters,” he explains. “Being a shooting instructor also allows me to interact directly with shooters, helping them understand how to use features and functionality effectively.”
