As one of the earliest Nocpix ACE H50R owners in the Czech Republic, Vít Kotlín has been part of the Nocpix journey from the very beginning. What started as a decision to embrace new thermal imaging technology gradually grew into something more meaningful. Through real-world hunting experiences, honest feedback, and hands-on testing, he became an active contributor to the continuous improvement of Nocpix products, helping turn everyday challenges into opportunities for innovation.
In this interview, Vít Kotlín shares his journey with Nocpix, the challenges he encountered along the way, and how his experiences and feedback have contributed to the ongoing evolution of Nocpix technology.
Q1: Do you remember roughly when you bought it, and what made you decide to take a chance on a brand-new Nocpix product at the time?
It was November 2024. I used to hunt with an Infiray thermal scope, but the lack of a rangefinder was a limitation. The ACE H50R had it all—a rangefinder integrated into the objective lens and a ballistic calculator; it was excellent.
Q2: What is your profession? (You mentioned, “Despite the higher price tag, my colleagues and I decided to give it a try.” We’d love to know a little more about your professional background.) How helpful is the Nocpix product for your actual work?
Deputy Director at a fishing association. I use the product privately, as part of my hobby.
Q3: Before buying your ACE H50R, how familiar were you with Nocpix? What were your expectations of the brand at that time?
I viewed the “Nocpix” brand itself as a premium line within the Infiray family.
Q4: Can you remember the first time you noticed that RAV wasn’t triggering reliably? What happened during that hunt or shooting session?
I used to activate recording manually, so the RAV function was a very welcome addition. However, it has to work 100% of the time so the hunter doesn’t lose footage just when they are counting on the automatic recording feature. When I couldn’t be certain RAV would trigger, I used manual recording just to be safe.
Q5: You’ve encountered several issues along the way, but instead of simply giving up on the product, you kept reporting them, testing solutions, and staying in touch with us. What made you willing to keep working with Nocpix?
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the quick response from Nocpix support, their willingness to resolve the issue, and the follow-up communication that ultimately led to a solution. I always emphasized this to colleagues who were considering buying a thermal scope.
Q6: When the adjustable RAV sensitivity became part of the official update, how did you feel knowing that something you had helped test was now available to other Nocpix users?
A positive feeling, naturally. It was a new product, and teething troubles are normal.
Q7: You started with the ACE H50R and later added an ACE S60R. What made you choose another Nocpix product after your experience with the H50R?

Q8: As Nocpix celebrates its second anniversary, if you could say one thing to the Nocpix team — or to the people behind the products you’ve helped improve — what would it be?
