In this interview, Chris shares his journey, his philosophy toward ethical deer management, and his experiences as part of the Nocpix ambassador family.
Q1: What inspired you to become a hunter?
I have a great love of the countryside and feel that we are all born hunters — it is in our DNA. I am committed to, where possible, providing or growing my own food.
Q2: Why did you decide to become a Nocpix ambassador?
I am impressed with the Nocpix brand; for me, Nocpix delivers unrivaled performance in the field.
Q3: Can you share any special experiences or stories from your hunting career?
As a professional deer manager, I am fortunate to be hunting on most days. However, taking someone out into the field for the first time on a hunt is always a particularly special occasion.
Q4: What role does equipment play in your success as a hunter, and how do you test and evaluate new gear?
Equipment plays a vital role in my job. Most of my time is spent in the forest evaluating deer numbers and condition, which then allows me to devise an accurate cull plan. Thermal technology enables me to spot deer in cover and low light and massively improves the chance of success on a hunt.
Q5: What is your favorite Nocpix product and why?
All of the Nocpix equipment I have tested is excellent. My favorite unit right now is the Lumi H35, mainly due to its size and convenience along with the superior image quality. My hunting is all on foot, and I can be out for long periods and so have to carry everything. This small unit, with its superb performance, is therefore ideal.
Q6: As a Nocpix ambassador, what are your future goals? How do you hope to use this role to promote both the brand and your own career?
I hope to promote and test Nocpix products in the field and provide full and honest reviews, giving feedback to Nocpix as well as promoting the brand across all of my platforms. I hope that this association will grow and be long-term.
