The allure of night hunting lies not only in the stealth of moving through darkness but also in the precision that technology brings. Behind every thermal scope, the true core driving its power is a small but vital component — the thermal core.

What is the Thermal Core?

Thermal radiation is a type of light invisible to the human eye, with wavelengths longer than visible red light. Any object with a temperature above -273°C (absolute zero) constantly emits infrared radiation.

NOCPIX thermal devices collect these thermal signals through a specialized thermal optical system. The heart of this system, the thermal detector, converts the invisible radiation into electrical signals. These signals are then processed and enhanced by the imaging circuitry to produce the familiar “thermal image” we rely on.

Objects of different temperatures and materials appear with varying brightness and contours on the thermal image — essentially “recoloring” the world. Even in pitch-black conditions where you cannot see your hand in front of your face, the heat signature of your target stands out clearly.

The Two Core Components of the Thermal Core:

🔹 Thermal Detector: Converts invisible infrared radiation into measurable electrical signals. It comes in two types — cooled (mostly used in military-grade devices) and uncooled (the civilian mainstream). NOCPIX focuses on uncooled detectors and proudly launched the world’s first 8μm infrared detector, placing it at the forefront of the industry.

🔹 Image Processing Circuitry: Optimizes and enhances raw signals to output high-definition thermal images, a critical factor for image quality.

With years of expertise in infrared technology, NOCPIX’s core systems are widely applied in nighttime surveillance, electrical equipment fault detection, medical temperature screening, and wildlife tracking.

Thermal Color Palettes

Color palette algorithms enhance temperature contrast by mapping temperature differences to different colors, helping users quickly and accurately identify heat signatures and lock onto targets.

White Hot / Black Hot: The classic hunting palettes, providing high contrast and clear outlines suitable for various environments.

Red Hot: A highly sensitive color mapping that highlights subtle temperature differences as small as 0.1°C.

Rainbow Palette: Simulates a colorful natural world, making fine details easier to observe.

Single Red / Single Green / Violet: Reduces eye strain, ideal for long-duration viewing.

Reticles: The Smart Rulers

In the thermal imaging display, the reticle is not just an aiming reference; it is your tactical tool for judging distance, compensating bullet drop, and correcting for wind drift.

📌 Precise Aiming: The center dot corresponds directly to the bullet’s point of impact.

📌 Rangefinding & Ballistic Compensation: Use the reticle markings to estimate target distance. Combined with BOLT’s built-in laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator, aiming adjustments are automatically applied.

📌 Wind Drift Correction: Horizontal mil-dot markings help you adjust your aim according to wind speed, making your shots steadier and more accurate.

NOCPIX offers 7 reticle styles tailored to different user needs:

No Mil-Dot Reticles: Best for close-range hunting and rapid aiming. Thick lines allow quick target acquisition; fine lines enable precise adjustments.

Mil-Dot Reticles: Designed for long-range shooting, allowing distance calculation and ballistic correction through mil-dot formulas — preferred by advanced users.

Why Should New Night Hunter Trust BOLT?

While many thermal scopes compete on image clarity and detection range, NOCPIX takes a different path by optimizing the true behind-the-scenes factors that affect shooting accuracy — the infrared core, intelligent algorithms, and reticle system.

Especially in the BOLT series, you don’t need to be an optics expert or a ballistician. Just input your basic ammunition parameters, and the system automatically completes ballistic calculations, image optimization, and color palette adjustments. This allows you to focus more on the prey, not on fiddling with complex settings.

From “seeing” through the thermal core, to “aiming precisely” with the reticle system, to “hitting the mark” with ballistic calculations — BOLT combines NOCPIX’s years of thermal technology expertise with a genuine understanding of night hunting.

No complex operations. No endless practice. Just a truly smart, beginner-friendly thermal scope.
