As discussed in Why Thermal Binoculars’ Comfort Matters in Real Hunting, the true value of a thermal binocular in real hunting lies not in its specifications, but in its ability to maintain clear, stable, and focused observation over long periods. Comfort is not just about experience—it directly influences a hunter’s judgment and reaction. The Nocpix QUEST series was born from this understanding, with every detail designed around comfort, from visual performance to operational handling.

The dual-eye system and Vision+ display provide a natural and relaxed viewing experience, while the R+ AI image algorithm and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) ensure consistently sharp and smooth visuals. Its ergonomic layout, dual-battery design, and lightweight, compact structure allow balanced and effortless use even during extended sessions. For Nocpix QUEST, comfort is not an accessory but the key to helping hunters stay steady, precise, and focused in every moment.

From Seeing to Seeing Longer and Clearer

In low-light and nighttime environments, the true measure of observation quality is not simply whether you can see, but whether you can see clearly for long periods with stability and ease. Visual fatigue is often the greatest hidden burden for hunters using thermal devices at night. When the image appears unnatural or the visual input is too singular, the brain must work harder to compensate, causing prolonged eye muscle tension and reduced focus. Nocpix understands that true visual comfort depends not only on hardware performance but also on how naturally the visual system works in harmony. That is why the design of QUEST is rooted in the mechanism of human binocular vision, allowing both eyes and the brain to work together seamlessly for longer, steadier, and clearer observation.

The human visual system is naturally designed for binocular coordination. Compared with monocular observation, binocular vision processes spatial information more efficiently, producing a greater sense of depth, balance, and realism while making prolonged observation feel easier and more natural. Based on this principle, QUEST is designed to provide hunters with a truly comfortable viewing experience that aligns with the way human vision works.

On this point, our brand ambassador Márk Korec from Vadász Blog shares his thoughts on the immersive experience brought by QUEST’s binocular system:

“In addition, since it’s a binocular, the device is equipped with two large full-HD round displays. This definitely makes the viewing experience more panoramic and immersive. Besides, using binoculars during hunting feels much more natural than looking through a monocular. Many hunters say they don’t want both eyes to be dazzled — of course, when using a traditional riflescope and flashlight, it’s better if the aiming eye remains unaffected. However, if your rifle already has digital technology on it, binoculars can actually be even better, because you won’t experience the uneven or double vision that a monocular often causes. With binoculars, the display brightness can be finely adjusted, so it won’t blind you at night. Moreover, since both eyes receive light equally, the brightness doesn’t feel as harsh as when only one eye is dazzled, which can otherwise cause discomfort and visual imbalance.”

The QUEST is built on the principles of binocular vision, using two 1920×1200 AMOLED screens to achieve synchronized imaging. This design improves information processing efficiency and provides a more natural visual experience. The circular display area focuses on the visual core region, reducing eye strain and enhancing recognition speed. The balance of binocular input and ergonomic grip enhances dynamic stability, making the image smoother and the extended observation more relaxed and comfortable. Together, these features create the core comfort logic of QUEST — allowing the brain and eyes to work in natural synchronization, transforming the observation process from passive viewing to an effortless and fluid perceptual experience.

In low-light or complex environments, the brain often needs to actively enhance contrast and edge recognition to interpret the image, and this constant compensation can easily lead to visual fatigue. QUEST makes it easier to see clearly through the collaboration of multiple technologies.

As our KOL, Australian hunter Into the Night, mentions, the R+ AI image algorithm in QUEST brings him an impressive experience:

“But as soon as you get up to about the 7.5, the AI processor in it cleans up that image, and it makes it a lot sharper again, and it just keeps it fairly sharp. So that’s 15× 28, right up to 32 times, and that cow is still reasonably clear — I can see her legs distinct, there you go — and I could even see the tiles on them. There you go — look at that — it’s 32 times, and look how clear you can see that cow at 300 m. So that’s pretty impressive. I’ve never used a thermal device that zooms in that well and keeps the image that clear. So the AI chip in it really does a good job of cleaning the image up when you’re zooming in. So that really helps if you’re out, you wanted to ID a target out at a long distance.”

In addition to the R+ AI image algorithm, QUEST is equipped with a 640×512@12 µm high-resolution sensor, NETD ≤ 15mK, a 60Hz high-refresh-rate display system, and an EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) .

Thanks to this advanced combination of perception and stabilization technologies, the user’s brain receives a clear, steady, and low-noise image input, allowing visual processing without extra focusing or contrast compensation. This significantly reduces neural strain during extended observation.

Whether scanning the treeline in the dim light before dawn or tracking a moving heat source through the darkness, QUEST delivers a truly comfortable hunting experience that lets you see clearly and for longer.

From Operating to Operating More Naturally

In nighttime or outdoor environments, the quality of the observation experience is influenced not only by image performance but also by how smoothly the device operates. When users frequently need to locate buttons or adjust their hand positions, their attention shifts from the target to the device, creating a pause between thought and action. These interruptions make operation cumbersome and increase fatigue during long periods of use.

That is why the operational design of QUEST focuses on simplifying interaction and minimizing unnecessary movement, allowing the user’s hand coordination to stay in sync with the brain’s rhythm. The result is a more natural, efficient, and comfortable operating experience. As described by our ambassador, British hunter Chris, when using the QUEST H50R:

The lightweight and compact body of around 700g remains well-balanced in both two-handed and single-handed use, allowing for long periods of operation without fatigue.

“Now, that 700 g weight is very light, and it does make it very attractive. …When binoculars or bioculars first came out seven or eight years ago, they were very big, very bulky, and they had slightly different ergonomics. They were certainly more boxy than a regular set of binoculars. I would think, to the untrained eye, they would look like a normal set of binoculars, and frankly, ergonomically, that is how they handle and how they are used.”

Paired with a wearable neck strap and chest pack design, the device stays easily accessible and ready to use at any moment, delivering a stable and effortless operating experience.

“Now, you do also get a larger carrying case, which will go over your head and over your shoulders in this fashion… I do like that, and I would use this as my long-term storage pouch. But I would use this strap as it is, because generally I’m using this for night hunting, and I’ve usually got a coat on, so I tuck the binoculars inside the top of the jacket if that’s the way I’m going to be using it. This is obviously all adjustable; you can change the length of the straps on it. It’s got mesh on it so that it will be a little bit more breathable. And of course, you just pull that top open there, and that allows you to get them out quickly, with a magnetic closure.”

The centrally positioned control wheel and symmetrical four-button layout ensure efficient and comfortable core operation.

“I especially like this dual system here, where you’ve got the focusing with your front finger like that, and then, of course, you can do the zoom with the other finger like that. It works quickly and smoothly, and you know, you’re never messing around looking for buttons, trying to play the clarinet in the dark, as I call it. Having two buttons on each side makes the system a lot more intuitive and logical.”

The combination of an internal battery and replaceable 18650 batteries provides continuous power supply, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

“And having those 18650s, and the fact that you can change them without losing the a because of the internal battery, means you’ve got the whole night ahead of you. The 18650s are like ammo; you put a couple in your pocket, and you’re good for the whole night. Having the charger included, along with two batteries, makes life very easy. And because it’s USB, you can use it in your vehicle, in your house, or with your laptop. That means you’re always ready and never short of power.”

These design elements together form the QUEST’s comfort-oriented operating system, ensuring every action flows seamlessly with the rhythm of observation. It minimizes the pauses caused by searching for buttons or adjusting hand positions and brings the operation back to pure instinct. For hunters, the ideal device is not one that demands conscious control, but one that feels completely natural to use.
